Hampshire are set to return to the Isle of Wight again next summer, with Newclose set to host a 50-over Royal London Cup group match against Kent on August 22 2023.
It's the third time in recent seasons the ground will have hosted county cricket, Hampshire having entertained Nottinghamshire there in 2019 and Northants in the RL Cup this summer. On each occasion the match has been blessed with superb weather and good sized crowds attracted to the venue.
Kent, of course, are Royal London Cup holders having beaten Hampshire in this season's semi-final at the Ageas Bowl.
As a bonus, island fans will also be able to watch the Southern Vipers women's team play at Newclose in July.
Hampshire launch their County Championship challenge against promoted Nottinghamshire at the Ageas Bowl over the Easter weekend, April 6-10 and host champions Surrey in the final round of matches in late September. Alas, there are no Lord's trips, the T20 Blast away match against Middlesex being at Radlett, with the sole CC fixture being at the Ageas Bowl. Travelling fans will, though, be able to visit Southport, York and Welbeck .,.. alongside the Isle of Wight !
