Harry Came hit his third century of the season, a match winning 102 not out for St Cross Symondians, who beat Basingstoke and North Hants by 91 runs at Winchester’s tree-lined Green Jackets Ground.
Stephen Mitchell joined in the celebrations – his 6-43 was his best Premier Division return.
The win kept St Cross in the mix to win the Time pennant, awarded to the side with the best record in the nine-match all-day format.
St Cross, with Burridge and Bashley (Rydal) to play, lie five points behind South Wilts in the Time pennant log.
But Symondians found themselves in a spot of early bother, with Tom Foyle (16) and Hampshire’s Joe Weatherley (9) both back in the pavilion with only 25 runs scored.
St Cross, thanks to Came and Hampshire all-rounder Ian Holland (67), built the platform for victory with a third-wicket stand of 131.
Basingstoke broke through with a handful of wickets, but the emerging Alex Ayers (48) added 78 for the sixth wicket, before Came reached 102 (13 fours) and St Cross declared at 263-6.
The Bountymen were never in the hunt and relied solely on Craig Williamson’s overdue 87 not out to give them a decent total.
Stephen Mitchell, with a league best spell of 6-43 had Basingstoke on the rack.
* St Cross Symondians completed a Basingstoke double in Premier 2, bowling their May’s Bounty hosts out for 129 (Chris Jolley 46) before coasting to a seven-wicket win.
