Hartley Wintney soak up the Bank Holiday sunshine after crushing Basingstoke & North Hants by eight wickets in a one-sided Guy Jewell T20 Cup final.
Already deflated after finishing bottom of the ECB Southern Premier Division and being on the receiving end of a 318-run mauling from Havant the previous day, Basingstoke struggled directly Academy prospect George Metzger was caught at slip off only the second ball. They managed to make only 112-8 and were beaten with almost seven overs to spare. Will Kerr (22) and teenager Harry Broderick (20) gave Hartley a promising start, which man-of-the-match Scott Baldwin (36 not out) and Jason Knibbs (33 not out) extended.
It was only the second time in ten seasons Hartley Wintney had lifted the 67-year old Guy Jewell Cup.
