Seven-times champions Havant are facing the prospect of a worst-ever ECB Southern Premier Division finish.
An eighth defeat of the season by six wickets at the hands of Burridge has left the SPL’s most successful club in NINTH place – second from the bottom of the log – after eight defeats in the last nine games in all competitions.
Havant normally feature in championship races at this stage of the season – they won back to back titles in 2016 and 2017 – but if they fail to win at either Basingstoke & North Hants on Saturday or beat the Hampshire Academy on August 31, they will finish a lowest-ever ninth.
They were on the back foot against Burridge directly Harry Gadd was caught behind for a fourth ball duck and were rocking at 39-4 after a double strike by Alec Damley-Jones (4-21) saw Stuart Ransley, Peter Hopson and Chris Jones join the teenage opener in the Havant Park pavilion.
Wicket-keeper Jeremy Bulled (34) top scored and received help from Graham Burns (27 not out) as Havant were restricted to 137-7.
Though Burridge opener Joe Collings-Wells had to retire hurt after facing just five balls they were rarely in trouble.
Fellow opener Azimunoor Chowdhury (44), Chris Blake (24) and Hilio de Abreu (22) laid the necessary platform for the win – only the second in six outings for Burridge in 50-over ‘white ball’ pennant matches.
