Teenager Will Tripcony and Devon all-rounder Dan Goodey unleashed a boundary blitz on Havant, hitting eight sixes and 18 fours between them as Bashley (Rydal) swept to a six-wicket ECB Southern Division victory at the BCG.
Bashley blasted their way past Havant’s 220 in the 39th over, with Goodey (left) hitting four maximums and ten fours, scoring 83 off 60 balls before being dismissed by a relieved Richard Hindley in the 19th over. Ben Walker’s two overs cost 29 runs.
Tripcony went on to make 94 (four sixes and eight fours) before handing over to Michael Porter (26*) to complete the formalities.
Harry Gadd had been just as devastating earlier, with six sixes and seven fours in a 50-ball 82, while Walker, a title winner with Bashley in 2019, made 45 before Havant nosedived from 183-3 to 220 all out, George Wilson taking 4-40.
