Paul Hawkins, the innovator of Hawk-Eye’s cricket technology, has shown he can still wield the willow to good effect by winning a Southern Premier League divisional batting award for the second consecutive season.
Last year he led St Cross Symondians’ seconds promotion charge by topping the Division 3 charts with 757 runs at an average of 58.23.
The former Buckinghamshire Minor Counties cricketer shone again this summer as the promoted Winchester side established themselves as the top second team in the Premier League pyramid by finishing third in Division 2 behind champions OTs & Romsey and Hartley Wintney. Hawkins hit six half-centuries in his 556-run aggregate.
