James Hayward pillaged 28 runs off one over as South Wilts swept into the Southern Electric twenty20 Cup quarter-finals – they travel to Liphook & Ripsley on Sunday – with a 67-run win over Calmore Sports at Bemerton.
The former SW skipper, who made a century in the 2013 Ageas Bowl final against Burridge, hit 50 – with Calmore spinner James Rose catching the full blast.  He is pictured in full cry by Roy Honeybone.
The opening two deliveries of Rose’s only over were reverse swept for four – and the third for an audacious six !
Then followed a reverse sweep four, a textbook boundary through extra-cover .. and, to finish, another reverse sweep for six.
Rose waved the white flag and withdrew from the attack.
With Rob Pittman (31), Ryan Duffield (21) and Jake Foley (20) also scoring quick runs, South Wilts marched on to 188-9.
Calmore made 121-7 in reply (Paul Proudley 27) with Luke Evans taking 3-21.
Havant teed up a visit to Paultons this Sunday after overcoming a determined Gosport Borough.
The Premier Division side experimented with their batting order and posted 149 (Rob Gibson 34), but Gosport gave chase and were 71-0 through Lee Harrop (39) and Blake Maher (36).
But once the opening stand was broken, Gosport lost all ten wickets for 56 runs and were dismissed for 117.
Quarter-final draw and dates : Bashley (Rydal) v St Cross Symondians (July 26, 3pm), Hampshire Academy v Sarisbury Athletic (July 12, 2pm), Liphook & Ripsley v South Wilts (Sunday, 3pm), Paultons v Havant (Sunday, 3pm).
