Andover pulled off a remarkable five-run win over Southern Premier Division 2 title rivals Hook & Newnham Basics, having been in dire trouble at 138-9 and, several hours later, snatching victory with only four balls of a London Road nail biter remaining.
Through last pair John Nyumbu and Aiden Jansen, Andover rallied to post 201 and then, after fortunes had fluctuated thoughout the post-tea session, bowled Hook out for 196.
Andover lost wickets at regular intervals with only Glyn Treagus (29) and Zimbabwean Richmond Mutumbami (31) making their mark against the spin of Aniket Divecha (3-26) and the emerging Will Gardner (1-26), who both bowled tidy ten-over spells.
Oli May (3-26) wheeled away effectively but, with ten overs still remaining, Hook spilled a regulation catch and Andover added a precious 64 runs with Nyumbu, left, (who was dropped) making 37 not out and Jansen 14.
Jansen, who took 5-16 against Basingstoke & North Hants two weeks earlier, struck two early blows by removing Harry Warner and Josh Buckingham, but Harry Robson (34) and Matt Buckingham (32) restored parity.
But from a threatening 88-2, Hook dipped to 117-6, Josh Banks-Williams (2-33) and Charlie Ayres (2-37) removing the Hook dangermen. Advantage Andover.
However, Armstrong (44*) was going well for Hook and Andover didn't look like prising him out. With two wickets left Hook needed another 43 from the last 12 overs and the game was in the balance. Armstrong hit some lusty blows and, with Divecha his partner, got Hook down to needing six to win with two overs to go.
With the third ball of the maiden 48th over, Babu Veetil had Divecha caught in the deep by Ollie Banks-Williams (195-9) and with the second ball of his final over pinned Ollie May leg before. Hook 195 all out.
Hook's defeat has enabled Calmore Sports to slip into third place - Sarisbury Athletic crashing to 107 all out and a six-wicket defeat at Loperwood Park.
Minus several front line batsmen, Sarisbury sank to 51-6 - Josh Metcalfe taking a tidy 2-16 with the new ball - before Rob Franklin (24*) added some useful late runs.
Calmore lost four wickets before Ben Fisher (23*) and Mark Lavelle (20) got them across the line.
