Dorset’s young cricketers are through to the semi-finals of the ECB Under-17 County B Cup after a dramatic one-wicket win over Cornwall ensured they finished top of the south-west group.
They won all four inter-county matches and will now play Cambridgeshire at Clare College next Wednesday, August 12.
Dorset enjoyed comfortable wins over Berkshire, the Isle of Wight and Wiltshire, but a btting collapse ensured a nerve racking finish against Cornwall at Weymouth.
With Will Caldwell (39) and Jamie Price (36) going nicely and their score 119-3, Dorset appeared set to comfortably overhaul Cornwall’s 161.
But a collapse saw six wickets fall before Parley’s Ollie Thomas got Dorset across the line.
