As the season approaches its half-way point (30 June) an amazing statistic has been revealed – there’s not a single overseas cricketer in either the leading batting or bowling performance charts.
Eight weeks into the campaign, its ‘home grown’ players all the way in the Southern Premier League, with spin bowlers topping the charts in all four divisions.
It is believed 13 clubs (a much lower number than usual) have foreign nationals on their books.
