Harry Warner, pictured, hit an unbeaten 89 after sharing a 135-run opening partnership with Sam Lockwood as Hook & Newnham Basics ended a five-match losing sequence with an emphatic seven-wicket win at Ventnor.
It was Hook's first league win since they thrashed table topping Basingstoke & North Hants by 100 runs on June 10.
Warner hit a six and 13 boundaries in his 89, while the hard hitting Lockwood breached the boundary roope nine times in his 53.
With Matt Buckingham (30) weighing in, Hook blew Ventnor's 189 away with 18 overs to spare. Aniket Divecha and Lewis Watts earlier shared six Ventnor wickets, the islanders collapsing from 156-4 when top scorer Henry Bartlett was run out for 70, four runs after Hugh Calloway (34) was trapped leg before by Divecha.
