An eight-wicket return by Academy prospect Scott Currie, pictured, was the high-spot of Hampshire’s rain affected drawn match against Devon in the ECB Under-17 County Championships at Totton & Eling.
The Poole based right-arm seamer took 4-45 in Devon’s first innings total of 301 and 4-40 in the second.
Replying to Devon’s 301, Hampshire were pulled out of the mire at 96-6 by Will Carr (42) and Zac Organ (40) and made 205-9 declared.
Devon (165-9) stretched their lead, leaving Hampshire to score 261. They reached 61-2, with Cole Campbell 24 not out.
Hampshire play Somerset in a three-day ECB match at Taunton Vale starting on Monday , 11am.
