Liphook & Ripsley expect to be without spinner Elliot Hawkins, who plans to remain in Perth WA after a winter with Suburban Turf club Applecross, but there are plenty of positives as the East Hampshire side looks forward to starting its Southern Premier League Division 1 campaign against Andover at Ripsley Park on May 7.
Lead all-rounder Suman Ganguly, who took 32 wickets in addition to scoring 643 runs last summer, and 34-wicket strike bowler Sean Burton will be joined by Dan Wrenn, who has returned to the Liphook fold from Hartley Wintney, and three promising youngsters.
Hampshire Under-16 opening batsman Gabe Broadhurst has joined from Petersfield, left-armer Jack Campbell from Steep, and quickie George Neave, from Headley. They are all expected to play in Saturday’s final pre-season warm-up match against Alton at Ripsley Park.
