Island based teenage left-hander Ben Duggan etched his name in Hampshire’s cricketing annals by making what is believed to be the highest individual score by a non-contracted player when he made a thumping 178 in the second team’s win over Worcestershire this week.
Duggan, 19, who is to spend the winter in Durban, hit 24 boundaries in his career-best knock on the Ageas Bowl Nursery Ground.
It was a second consecutive hundred by Duggan, who made 124 for a combined Hampshire/Sussex team against Surrey IIs in his previous knock
