IT'S MID-SUMMER ... TIME FOR CRICKET TO START AGAIN !

You wouldn’t believe it after the recent wet weather, but it’s mid-summer’s day – and an opportunity for a posse of ECB Southern Premier Division clubs to re-launch their seasons.
None more so that second placed South Wilts, whose past two matches against Burridge and the Hampshire Academy have been washed out.  They visit defending champions St Cross Symondians, who haven’t completed a game themselves since losing to Basingstoke & North Hants on June 1.
With Henry Edwards back and Darren Cowley returning from a two-match ban, early season leaders Lymington are set to field their strongest possible side at Alton, who moved off bottom spot by beating Basingstoke last week.
Lymington: Metcalfe, Rogers, Crabb, Scott, Schreuder, Fisher, Edwards, Cowley, Cox, Proctor, Layman.
The Bountymen, meanwhile, go to Havant, with rumours rife that former skipper Mitch Stokes may have played his last game, at least for the time being. Burridge and the Hampshire Academy head across Spithead to play at Newclose. The county youngsters will be back on Ageas Bowl soil against St Cross Symondians on July 6.
Division One table toppers Hook & Newnham Basics face a potentially demanding north Hampshire derby at Andover, who have been spluttering of late.
Second placed Portsmouth are without Mexico-bound Andrew Marston at Sparsholt, but elder brother captain Jack is back at the helm. Teenager Tom Wallis replaces Sam Collings-Wells.
Portsmouth:   B Duggan, T Wallis, J Marston, F Hay, D Wallis, M Shaw, J Holder, V Dawson, A Hammond, R McArdle, F Ahmed.
New Milton, revitalised by three straight wins, must do without skipper George Watts at OTs & Romsey, so his father Steve steps in.
New Milton:  L Beck, S Watts, R Beck, C Golding, D Loader, A Hussey, D Adlem, L Mortimore, O Wilmore, B Griffiths, D Wakefield.
It’s a big weekend for Sarisbury Athletic, who face an SPL1 visit to Calmore Sports before entertaining Wiltshire’s Burbage & Easton Royal in the Village Cup at Allotment Road on Sunday.
Sarisbury Athletic: Rawlins, Mills, Floyd, Nightingale, J Hill, Sanders, Bond, Wright, Kitcher, S Hill, Jewell.
Chris Yates Jnr, Ian Metcalfe, Chris Board and Sam Plater are unavailable for Rowledge’s long haul trip to winless Ventnor - Jake Wish is still missing through Brexit issues – but Nick Morant and Richard Forbes return
Rowledge: B Wish, Morant, R Yates, Sebborn, Wilson, Lloyd, M Martin, S Martin, Baker, Ryman, Forbes.
