Jack Budd struck his maiden Southern Premier League century as Langley Manor went on a 298-run spree against Division 3 strugglers Tichborne Park at Knellers Lane.
Budd hit 137 - fives sixes and 14 fours - and shared a bumper 229-run stand with Conor Browne (78), the second highest SPL3 opening partnership. Tichborne, fried in the baking heat, conceded 41 extras as thge Manor ran up 298-3, Graham Noble hitting 28 despite suffering from pad rash.
Tichborne's troubles didn't end there. Having lost all three times since beating Trojans on the opening day of the season, they lost their first four wickets for only nine runs before Will Allam (38), who took two of the Manor wickets, and Kieran Connell (31) gave their response some shape. Little Tommy Spencer took 3-21 as Tichborne Park fell to 124 all out and a crushing 174-run defeat.
