The 18-year old Swindon-raised right-hand all-rounder hit five fours in a 29-ball 32 and shared an 83-run opening partnership with Tom Alsop (85) as Hampshire went on to post 181-3.
Liam Dawson took five wickets as Somerset lurched to 98 all out.
Goodwin was among six recent Academy cricketers to play for Hampshire, while Somerset's ranks included Ventnor's Adam Hose and ex-Bashley (Rydal) spinner Max Waller, who was captain for the night.
