Former Hampshire batsman Joe Gatting has left ECB Southern Premier League club Burridge to play for perennial East Anglian Premier League champions Swardeston this summer.
The 28-year old, who made only 228 runs in 11 SPL knocks last season, was released by Hampshire after a disappointing two-year stint at the Ageas Bowl. Ironically, he enjoyed a successful winter in South Australia Grade cricket for Northern Districts, scoring almost 1,000 runs and taking 19 wickets for the Adelaide club.
Ryan Stevenson, currently struggling with a back injury, will ‘pro’ for Burridge this season, with Cape Town all-rounder and captain Geoff Dods returning for another summer at The Ridge.
