Spin all-rounder Jonty Oliver starred with bat and ball as Hambledon eased to a comfortable 112-run victory over Bramshaw in the Venous Village Cup preliminary round at Ridge Meadow - the prize for which is a home first round tie against Hursley Park on April 23.
Taking time off from his maths and sports science studies at Loughborough University, Oliver hit an unbeaten 45 and later took the last five Bramshaw wickets to fall to finish with a healthy 5-21 return.
Hambledon's 218-5 was built around a century second wicket stand between James Marshall (65) and Henry Glanfield (48). Shahryar Khan and James Restall took two wickets each as Bramshaw were dis missed for 106.
The remainder of the unplayed preliminary round ties - including Hartley Wintney v Locks Heath on Saturday - are scheduled to be played next weekend, if grounds have sufficiently dried out.
