South Wilts left-armer Josh Croom underlined his growing claim for all-rounder status with a half-century on Australian soil in the opening round of First Grade matches in Adelaide's West End SACA Premier League.
The 20-year old, who hit a career-best 95 for Wiltshire against Cornwall at Bemerton in August, made 51 as Glenelg scored 229 before reducing East Torrens to 42-5 at stumps. They hope to complete a comprehensive outright victory when play resumes on Saturday.
Elsewhere Grade cricket has been badly affected by the wet weather which has struck Australia's Eastern states. No play has been possible in either of the New South Wales or Victoria competitions.
