Bashley (Rydal) have joined the ECB Southern Premier League’s 300 Club !
For the second consecutive week, Bashley posted a 300-plus Premier Division score, their 328-8 against Hook & Newnham Basics surpassing the 325-9 they made at Lymington a week earlier.
Josh Digby will want more of the same in Saturday’s Bournemouth derby at Chapel Gate, where Jacob Gordon could return after a painful bicep injury.
Lowly Hook & Newnham Basics were on the receiving end of a crushing 184-run defeat by fourth-placed Bash – but there remains a convenient cushion between themselves and the bottom two clubs, Burridge and Bournemouth.
Josh Buckingham gave Bashley first use of the BCG track and openers Will Tripcony (77) and Ben Francis (70) cashed in with a 133-run partnership.
With Josh Digby (53), Dan Goodey (43) and Saif Achakzai (34) following up, Hook’s fielders retrieved the ball from the boundary 29 times, in addition to five sixes hit out of the ground.
Buckingham rotated seven bowlers before Bashley closed at 328-6, but Hook’s reply never got going and only Charlie Neville (42) made his mark as Digby (4-38) and Ben Fletcher (3-38) bowled them out for a disappointing 144.
