BASHLEY (RYDAL) captain Michael Porter has been named ECB Southern Premier Division 'Cricketer of the Month' an award sponsored by www.vimpsatthecrease.com website, in conjunction with Cricket-Hockey. com, the Downton-based sports equipment specialists.
Porter made 216 league runs in July, his knocks of 76 against St Cross Symondians and 62 v Havant proving key in Bashley's respective victories and push for a maiden Premier Division title.

Portsmouth's Western Australian all-rounder Fraser Hay, with 13 wickets (and 112 runs), won the Division One away, with South Wilts's teenager medium-paceman James Wade taking the SPL2 prize on account of back-to-back five-wicket hauls against Basingstoke & North Hants and Totton & Eling. Purbrook all-rounder Martin Lee, with 160 runs and nine wickets, is the Division 3 award winner.
