Bashley (Rydal) left-arm pace bowler Brad Currie has been named ECB Southern Premier Division Cricketer of the Month after his 20-wicket haul helped propel the New Forest club to the top of the table.
The monthly awards are made by www.vimpsatthecrease.com in conjunction with Cricket-Hockey.com, the Downton-based cricket and hockey specialists.
Currie 20-year enjoyed six-wicket hauls against both Lymington and Bournemouth – but his award was a close run affair, with Burridge’s Cape Town all-rounder Hilio de Abreu launching a late challenge on the back of 235 runs and four wickets in the past month.
The lead role Lee Beck played in New Milton’s four-match winning revival wins the Division One prize, while Waterlooville’s Jon Hudson enjoyed a champion month with bat and ball and takes the SPL2 award. Hambledon’s Luke Barber is the Division 3 Cricketer of the Month.
