A fourth defeat in five – an 84-run loss to Hartley Wintney at Stoneham Lane – has left Trojans second from bottom of British Gas Southern League Division 2.
A second SPL century by teenager Will Kerr, pictured above, pointed Hartley Wintney to a powerful 253 which Trojans, despite the endeavours of Syed Mahmood, were unable to match.
A 110-run opening partnership between Kerr, whose 107 contained a six and 12 fours, and New Zealander Henry Collier (35) left Trojans skipper Ed Boyd reflecting on his decision to field.
The evergreen Mario Mahomed (5-43) tried his best to bowl Trojans back into the match but, from 165-5, Hartley Wintney progressed to 253 all out, with – Ross (29) and Rhys Bactup (24) enjoying a fruitful pre-tea rally.
Boyd’s misery was compounded when he was bowled first ball, leaving Mahmood (60) as Trojans main threat. England Disability all-rounder Dan Reynaldo (3-21) wiped out the middle-order to leave Trojans 107-5 (James Truscott 28).
Mark Teale (3-24) then had Hassan trapped leg before and along with skipper Danny Plume (2-15) they wiped out the tail, as the last five wickets added just 40 runs with Trojans all out for 169.
