Langley Manor has become a haunted house for visiting Portsmouth & Southsea in the past two summers.
Last August the Portsea club was within touching distance of being crowned Southern Premier Division 3 champions when they drove down tree-lined Knellers Lane and were skittled for 47, Simin Peters taking a worldly 8-17. The Manor, destined to finish runners-up, won by 151 runs.
Twelve months later P & S revisited. No Simon Peters this time - but the margin of defeat was even heavier, P & S all out 38 and beaten by a thumping 200 runs, Conor Browne making 67. Ben Morgan and teenage spinner Toby Green sharing six of the Southsea scalps.
