LAVELLE NEEDS TO UNZIP CALMORE'S BANANA FEARS

25/8/2017

Championship chasing Calmore Sports are within two wins of celebrating a second consecutive Southern Premier League title – but are all too aware of a potential banana skin that awaits them at Rowledge.
It’s effectively a top v bottom affair, with Rowledge 18 points adrift of the nearest safety rung at the bottom of Division 2.
“They are in last chance saloon and if they don’t beat us, then Rowledge are all bar down,” warned Calmore skipper Mark Lavelle.
“That means we must prepare to face a side that’s going to make us fight for every run and every wicket – so we’ve a difficult afternoon ahead of us.”
Paul Proudley doesn’t make the trip to the Surrey county border, but Tamlyn Goodrich, Ben Perry and Dom Ducellier are all back.  Rowledge are boosted by the return of key all-rounder Steve Martin and field their strongest available side.
Rowledge: N Morant, J Wish, T Treble, D Lloyd, R Yates, O Baker, S Martin, B Wish, J Randall, G Keeley, C Yates.
Calmore Sports:Lavelle, Goodrich, Cook, Johns, Manning, Rutter, Perry, Rose, West, Ducellier, Croft.

Ventnor could scupper Rowledge’s survival hopes completely with a win over Bournemouth, who lie two points behind Basingstoke & North Hants in the promotion race.
Unchanged Basingstoke visit relegated Tichborne Park before hosting Hook & Newnham Basics in the Guy Jewell T20 Final at May’s Bounty on Sunday morning, 11am.
Sarisbury Athletic's line up against Liphook & Ripsley at Allotment Road is: Rawlins, Floyd, Mitcheson, Bond, Mills, Sanders, Josh Hill, Wright, Freemantle, Goldstraw, Sam Hill.
