
Liphook & Ripsley have a mid-September date at Lord's after reaching the National Village Cup final with a 93-run win over Mayfield, the Sussex League Division 1 leaders, in yesterday's semi-final.
With opener Ryan Covey pacing his innings nicely for 68 (until departing to a rather bizarre run out) and talented teen George Neave cracking an eye pleasing 51, Liphook posted a competitive 218 (Jon Pryce 32).
Once they took early Mayfield wickets, Liphook were on the front foot, They bowled particularly well, Sean Burton taking 4-32, as Mayfield were dismissed for 121.
