Lymington's Calvin Dickinson is set to make his full Hampshire debut in tonight's (Thursday) crucial NatWest T20 Blast match against Glamorgan under the Ageas Bowl floodlights, 7pm. The match is live on Sky Sports dedicated Cricket Channel.
He replaces normal gloveman/batsman Lewis McManus, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a broken finger. The same fate has befallen county team-mate Rilee Rossouw, who is also likely to sit out the remainder of the campaign.
Isle of Wight schooled Dickinson, 20, who drove back from this week's Second XI Championship defeat at Taunton to replace the injured McManus behind the stumps in the washed out Lancashire game, made an impressive debut for Hampshire, hitting 99 against South Africa A earlier in the season.
He previously played Hampshire League cricket for Ryde and, more recently, for Cherwell League side Shipton-Under-Wychwood while at Oxford Brookes, where he helped Oxford MCCU win the BUCS Championship at Lord's.
Glamorgan have enjoyed an impressive NatWest T20 Blast campaign so far, currently sitting top of a closely contested South Group with three games remaining. Since their opening day defeat to Hampshire, Jacques Rudolph’s side have lost just once their following ten matches.
Former Bournemouth cricketer Chris Cooke plays for Glamorgan.
