Hugo Chandler went on a six-hitting spree in a brave but eventually unsuccessful bid to land Lymington seconds a Southern Premier Division 3 victory over Portsmouth & Southsea.
The Chichester University student cleared the St James’s Park boundary rope on nine occasions and also hit four boundaries in a blistering 88 scored off 67 balls.
He predictably top scored as Lymington made 188 all out (Jake Peach 4-20) as they attempted to chase 236 off a rain trimmed 34 overs.
P & S had earlier posted 281-6 off 46 overs, Chris Bollom (86) and Jack Davies (72) adding 156 for the third wicket.
Portsmouth & Southsea won the weather affected match by 48 runs.
* Tichborne Park's scheduled home match against Purbrook was rained off.
