Peppering the boundary almost at will, St Cross Symondians’ openers Tom Foyle and Felix Organ went on a scoring frenzy, belting 99 runs off the initial batting power-play at Lymington.
Their run blitz made it easy pickings for St Cross to chase down Lymington’s 190 all out and win by eight wickets with almost 22 overs to spare.
It was the Winchester club’s third straight ECB Southern Premier Division win and provides them with a handy 14-point advantage over Bournemouth at the end of the first batch of five ‘white ball’ games.
Earlier, Lymington provided themselves with a decent start through Ryan Scott (40), whose partnership with Terry Crabb took the New Forest club to 95-1 before the innings fell away to 122-4 and later 150-4 whereupon four more wickets fell for 20 runs.
New Zealander Crabb fell for a patient and well made 68 at 168-7, Lymington eventually being dismissed for 190, Organ finishing with 3-28 and Harry Came and Harry Foyle two wickets each.
Foyle, who smashed 15 fours in an unbeaten 87, and Organ, with 52 of his 65 runs coming in boundaries, blew the Lymington bowling to bits and 123 runs were on the board before they were parted in the 14th over.
Came (23) lent brief support before St Cross clinched their eight-wicket victory after 27.1 overs.
