Magical Millar hit career best 145* [Steve Cheverton]
Zac Millar hit a career best 145 not out as Hythe & Dibden warmed up for Saturday’s Waterside derby against Fawley with a 316-run romp against Southern Premier League Division 3 basement boys Lymington II.
Millar, who is studying for a Masters Degree at Southampton University, hit a six and 17 fours, enjoying consecutive century partnerships, initially 131 with Craig Stow (46) and later an unbroken 152 with village bobby Andy Wakely (53) as Hythe topped the 300 mark.
Stand-in Lymington skipper Trevor Phillips was left tearing his hair out as his bowlers topped up the Hythe total with 51 wides.
Lymington did manage a creditable 214 in reply, with Josh Royan hitting 63.  Namesake Wayne Royan took 3-43 and Wakely detained three more. Hythe won by 102 runs.
