Sportsmen planning to use the M27 this coming weekend should be aware of its total closure between Junctions 9 (Segensworth/Whiteley) and 11 (Fareham Central/Gosport) from 9pm Friday through to Sunday evening to enable a footbridge to be erected across all six lanes. The M27 will be closed in both directions.
The motorway closure will mean all Portsmouth/Southampton traffic being diverted along the A27 passing Catisfield, Titchfield and Park Gate. The road is a dual carriageway, with several roundabouts and traffic signals likely to affect the traffic flow.
Sportsmen using this route are recommended to add at least 30 minutes to their scheduled journey time.
