Leaders Bashley (Rydal) II and second placed Hambledon slipped to defeat in round 7 of the Southern Premier Division 3 programme.
Bashley saw their seven-match winning start to the season ended at Purbrook, where 19 wickets fell for 243 runs and the hosts won with their last pair at the crease.
Hambledon lost by two wickets to Fawley, who moved into third spot after chasing down 170-8 at Ridge Meadow.
Runs were at a premium at Purbrook Heath, where Brad Mengham (5-20) had Bashley on the rack at 68-7 until Sam Stroud swatted an unbeaten 47 to swell the visitors total to 121.
Stroud (3-28) and Sean Read (3-17) inflicted similar damage on Purbrook, who were 58-5 but rescued by opener Martin Lee (pictured), who carried his bat for an unbeaten 43 to get his side home by one wicket.
Melbourne cricketer Luke Barber, with 68 and a subsequent 3-37 return, did his bit in aid of Hambledon’s cause but was unable to prevent his side suffering a two-wicket defeat by Fawley.
The Dons lost early wickets and were 54-5 (Oli Willoughby 28) when their Aussie came to the rescue.
Sufian Munir (46) eased Fawley to 99-3 (Andy Parratt 29), but there wasa wobble until Callum Earl’s 26 not out got the oilmen across the line.
Portsmouth & Southsea failed to chase down 166-8 (Ed Boyd 50) in their ten-run defeat at Trojans in a game that could have gone either way.
Jake Peach took 4-27 as Trojans, 116-2 at one stage, managed 166-8 (Syed Mahmood 34, Oli Kelly 32) before Tom Benfield (22) and Ollie Kanavan (39) provided P & S a solid start.
Dean Lee (19) and Ben Saunders (19) got the visitors closer but a late collapse, prompted by Syed Agha (5-42) and Jamie Donaldson saw the last four P & S wickets fall for 11 runs.
