Former Dorset Under-17 seamer Matt Geffen, left, produced an amazing career-best spell of 9-33 to record the fifth best individual bowling performance in Sussex Premier League cricket. The 25-year old, who represented Dorset's junior age group sides while he was studying at Clayesmore School, was playing for Chichester Priory Park against Goring-on-Sea when he produced his nine-wicket haul. Coming on as first change, he clean bowled seven Goring batsmen and had two others caught as the visitors plummeted from 60-1 to 106 all out. Chichester polished off the target for the loss of three wickets, Hampshire's media executive Jamie Hopkins making 39 not out, after suffering a badly bruised toe. Sussex Newspapers pic |
