Last pair Dan Conway and Matt Mixer were the heroes as Bournemouth scrambled a dramatic one-wicket win over New Milton from an extra-ordinary Southern Premier League Cup match in which 19 wickets fell for a combined total of 195 runs.
New Milton probably thought they had little hope after a six-wicket haul by 19-year old Ollie Breckon sent them crashing from 86-3 to 97 all out.
But they hit back, reducing West group table toppers Bournemouth to 77-9 before Conway (11) and Mixer (13) added 21 for the last wicket to get them across the line in a nerve tangling finish.

Batsmen found run scoring difficult throughout on a low, slow Chapel Gate surface which demanded concentration – something Lee Beck (50) applied to great effect. Joe Hall (14) gave him valuable support.
The fair haired Breckon underlined the other key ingredient, that of bowling straight – hitting the stumps four times and trapping a fifth victim leg before. He finished with 6-16 as Milton lost seven wickets for 11 runs. Jake Hurley took 2-15.
George Watts (4-17) produced two stunning deliveries to remove Nick Park and key man Adam Davies for ducks, after which Tom Robinson (16) and Luke Matthews (15) added handy runs.
But having reached 47-2, Bournemouth promptly lost four more wickets for six runs and were in the mire at 53-6 and not long after 77-9.
New Milton sniffed a remarkable victory, but Conway and Mixer - the left-armer hitting two stunning extra-cover drives – kept their cool to not only secure a one-wicket win but also keep Bournemouth’s League Cup final hopes alive. Ironically, the winning run came from a leg-side wide !
