Ventnor-raised Adam Hose was promoted to open the batting for Somerset on his Nat West t20 Blast debut against Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl. Somerset were set to score 144 after Hampshire collapsed from 80 without loss to 143-7, former Bashley (Rydal) leg spinner Max Waller taking 3-17. Hose hit four boundaries in quick-fire 20 (off 15 balls) before being brilliantly caught by James Vince. Somerset were hot favourites at 89-3, but collapsed to finish with 137-8. Hampshire won by six runs and clinch a place in the quarter-finals (just).
