Former Hampshire captain Jimmy Adams, who helped St Cross Symondians win a maiden ECB Southern Premier League championship last summer, has been appointed as one of the county’s new Assistant Coaches, alongside Alfonso Thomas (ex-Somerset), who is essentially first team bowling coach.
It is anticipated Adams will focus on the Hampshire Second XI, freeing current Head of Player Development, Charlie Freeston, to work solely with the Hampshire Academy.
The duo join First Team Manager, South African Adrian Birrell, as part of a new coaching set-up and will lead the Club’s pre-season preparations ahead of the commencement of the 2019 campaign in April.
