Rob Newman unleashed a boundary laden 96 off 63 balls to point Old Tauntonians & Romsey to a four-wicket win which dislodged St Cross Symondians II from the Southern Premier Division 2 summit.
Arriving at the Green Jackets ground crease with OTs an uncertain 57-3 (but with opener/captain Charlie King still there), Newman gradually built his confidence with a series of cover drives, but once his eye was in, he began to sweep and lap shots to all parts of the ground, breaching the boundary rope 16 times.
King didn't play with quite so much panache, but his ten fours in an unbeaten 68, and his 120-run stand with Newman got OTs home in comfortable style.
Earlier, former Brondesbury captain James Overy (53) made a half-century at the start of the St Cross innings, Steve Hirst unleashing 44 not out in company with Richard Wilson (25) and Graham Barrett (26).
St Cross made a modest 201-5.
