Havant are through to the last 16 of the ECB Royal London Club Championship after their Group final match against previously undefeated Surrey Championship outfit Normandy took a dramatic turn after the evening drinks break.
At that point Normandy, at 86-1, looked firm favourites to overhaul Havant’s 200-8.
But once Chris Jones (51) and Sam Holland (34) were parted, Normandy collapsed with nine wickets falling for 71 runs and the visitors to 157 all out.
Richard Hindley (3-25) and Richard Jerry (3-31) shared six of the wickets as Havant won by 43 runs.
Earlier, a 95-run fourth-wicket stand between Chris Stone (56) and Jez Bulled (60) eased Havant away from an uncertain 50-3 to their match winning 200-8.
Former Basingstoke & North Hants and Hartley Wintney all-rounder Will Phillips hit 87 for Middlesex County League champions Richmond (239-7), who lose by five wickets off the penultimate ball to Weybridge, for whom Oli Mills took 3-31.
