Something must give (unless it rains, of course) when the Southern Premier League Cup West 2/3 top teams, Fair Oak and Bashley (Rydal) seconds, go head-to-head with their respective unbeaten records on the line t Lapstone Park.
The pair have each won their opening three matches, with Bashley (64) currently two batting bonus points ahead of the Oaks.
Bashley blend youth with experience, Neil Taylor, Simon Ridley and Simon Watkins lining up alongside a clutch of promising youngsters.
Bashley (Rydal) II: Will Tripcony, Jacob Gordon, Patrick Lewis, Simon Watkins, George Wilson, Saif Achakzai, Simon Ridley, Neil Taylor, Tom Harris, Ethan Baker, Ben Fletcher.
Hythe & Dibden and Fawley renew their arch Waterside rivalry at Jones Lane, where the hosts will be anxious to pick up the pieces from last weekend’s nine-wicket demolition by group leaders Bashley (Rydal).
They were spun to defeat by 14-year old leggie Ethan Baker, who took an amazing 8-15.
Hythe will be boosted by the return of Andy Wakely and Zac Millar as they look to repeat last season’s victory over the oilmen, despite Sufian Munir’s century.
Fawley avenged that defeat in the final round of matches – a promotion clinching five-wicket win over Hythe ensuring SPL2 cricket, now delayed until 2021.
Hythe & Dibden: T Richards, T Gates, M Young, Z Millar, A Wakely, A Nicholas, F Roberts, L Vaughan, A Oliver, M Bowman, T Ndowora.
Fawley: C Earl, K Earl, B Parratt, C Parratt, S Munir, B Streather, A Bryers, A Freeman, W Crossley, R Leach, T Edwards.
Paultons look to halt a two-match losing sequence on their early awaited visit to Trojans, whose weakened side was battered by OTs & Romsey last week.
Paultons: Metcalfe, Rogers, Hamid, Wateridge, Lee, Drake, Lamb, M Holgate, J Holgate, Denney, Dunn.
South Wilts seconds will be without their all-rounder captain Rob Pittman at Langley Manor – the first time he’s missed a Saturday league game in 14 seasons – since 2006 !
An on-going back injury is the problem and means that Tom Pearce (due to play his first game of this truncated season) may wear the captain’s armband.    Sam Pittman will be back behind the stumps.
South Wilts II: Wade, Berzins, Riddle, Edwards, Pearce, Harries, Pittman, Partridge, Bolam, Lewis, Richards.
