Fair Oak are on the brink of a Southern Premier League Division 3 and Tichborne Trophy double.
Pictured with the Winchester & District CCA T20 cup they won by beating Rotherfield Park in a dramatic final, Oaks could more or less wrap up the SPL3 title if they win at second placed South Wilts on Saturday.
They go to Bemerton needing 36 points for the championship, but a win at Wilton Road will make it virtually impossible for them to be caught.
Oaks took a step closer to their second silverware prize with an 82 run win which pushed Fawley deeper into the relegation mire.
Fair Oak didn’t start that well at Lapstone Park and were 56-3 (Khajit Sharma 2-48) when Ed Kemp (48) was joined by Asad Abbas for an innings changing 91-run stand.
Despite Sufyan Munir’s 3-39 spell, Abbas hit 71 and with later contributions from Gregor McKenzie (25), Richard Featherstone and Rhys Oxley saw Oaks to 255 all out.
Directly Ross Stewart (2-29) nipped out openers Callum Earl and Andy Parratt, Fawley were in trouble.
Munir (61) got only token support as Rufus Bullough (4-32) and Abbas (2-7) worked their way through the order to leave Fawley 163 all out, but only one point off the nearest safety rung occupied by Havant II, who lost by 87 runs at Purbrook.
* Fair Oak defended 103 to beat Rotherfield Park by five runs in a dramatic Tichborne Trophy final at Hursley Park.
Recovering from 20-5, Oaks made 103, principally on the back of a responsible knock from Gregor McKenzie (35), and then quelled a flying Rotherfield start, with Asad Abbas bowling a mean four-over spell.
Jack Penn blasted 49, but was caught behind with seven balls of the match left and Rotherfield Park 98 all out.
