Calmore Sports
Back (from left): George Woodhall, Matt Taylor, Paul Proudley, Mike West, Ben Perry, Daren Vann. Seated: Michael Cook, James Manning, Mark Lavelle, Steve Wright, Ben Johns.
Defending the crown they won in 2017, Calmore Sports finished a disappointing eighth in a competitive Southern Premier League Division 1, but their win tally of eight victories from 17 completed matches was only one less than Ventnor, who finished third.
Skipper Mark Lavelle once again excelled with the ball, taking his 36 wickets at a miserly economy rate, while left-hander Ben Johns, who plans to spend the winter season playing sub-district cricket in Melbourne, made 424 runs. James Manning (363 runs), Mike West (27 wickets) and Steve Wright (22 wickets) also caught the eye.
