The prospects of any further cricket being played on Hampshire's former happy hunting ground at Dean Park, Bournemouth, plunged deeper into doubt this week with news that Parley will no longer be playing Hampshire League matches there.
It seems the financial costs involved in securing a deal with the owners, the Park School, have proved prohibitive.
This season, Parley will play their County Division 3 South and Dorset League fixtures at their West Parley ground, with the Hants 2 and 3 sides playing at Kings Park. The HCL fifth team will continue to play at Littledown.
A comment on Parley's website said: "A lot of work has gone in to attempting to continue with cricket at Dean Park, and it saddens us all to think that little or no cricket will be played there from now on."
Parley are urgently trying to source venues for the few H2 & H3 fixtures where Kings Park is not available and hope to resolve this shortly.
