This is the attacking style of play by Bashley (Rydal) batsman Michael Porter team-mates at the Victoria sub-district side Brunswick will relish when he touches down in Melbourne this weekend.
Porter finished seventh in the ECB Southern Premier Division batting charts this summer, scoring 679 runs, including two centuries. He has made over 4,600 runs in 11 seasons for Bashley, prior to which he made close on 750 runs in two seasons with the Hampshire Academy.
Porter will look to expand his relatively under-used leg-spin talents during his six months at Brunswick, who helped develop James Hibberd ten years or so ago.
Also wintering in Melbourne is Lymington spin all-rounder Dan Cox, who will be looking to enhance his talents with Middle Park CC, whose ground is situated in Albert Park, smack next door to the city's F1 motor racing circuit.
Academy left-arm pace bowler Finn Calderwood and Bashley (Rydal) prospect Josh Parsons have linked up with the Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy in Adelaide.
