With their reply at 117-8 in response to Liphook & Ripsley’s 248-8, Andover had almost given up hope of winning their Premier Division 1 match at Ripsley Park.
But while Dave Taylor is at the crease, anything is possible!
Taylor, a treble centurion for Totton & Eling on the opening day of the season, promptly struck an almost unbelievable 172 not out to get Andover home by one wicket with a six off the last ball.
In total, he smashed 14 sixes and eight fours, getting Andover across the line during a last-wicket stand of 74 with last man Mike Adams.
Taylor came to the crease with Andover already 28-3 and totally dominated a six-strewn final hour of play.
Earlier, Richard Covey (76) top scored for Liphook.
