Rob Newman hit a match winning 95 as Old Tauntonians & Romsey chased down St Cross Symondians’ 189-6 with their last pair at the crease.
Newman took OTs to the brink of a British Gas Southern League Division 2 victory, but was dismissed by Harry Foyle (3-35) with six runs still required.
His anxieties were eased when Keith Trodd hit a boundary and OTs scraped in by one wicket.
Earlier, Dan Young’s 68, aided by Foyle’s late 33 not out, helped St Cross to 189-6.
