Tom Jacques ursley Park are propping up the British Gas Southern Premier League after previously winless Gosport Borough inflicted a third successive Division 3 defeat on them at Privett Park.
They bowled Hursley out for 144 before celebrating a seven-wicket win, with skipper Tom Larner played a significant role.
Hursley Park, who avoided the drop to the Hampshire League by the skin of their teeth last season, lost two quick wickets before Matt Pile (44) and Matt Branfoot (31) improved matters.
But when Larner (3-16) took three quick wickets, Hursley dropped to 75-5 and later 106-6 before being 144 all out, teenage duo Jacob Harris and spinner Jack Richards taking two wickets each.
Lee Harrop, with an unbeaten 62 and Larner (59) eased Gosport to their first win in three.
Purbrook, the other side without a win, lost by six wickets to leaders Basingstoke & North Hants II.
Purbrook made 140-9 (Jon Moller 47), but the classy Andy Giles, with an unbeaten 51, and teenager Martin Deadman (33) guided the Bountymen to a six-wicket win.
With their Premier Division match against South Wilts called off, Alton chose to strengthen their second team for the visit to their opposite numbers, Bashley (Rydal).
But beefing up the side with first team captain Scott Myers and overseas all-rounder Sean Jamison didn’t work, although the Gauteng star did make 61 while Alton were tottering at 113-7.
Instead, it was seasoned Bashley campaigner Neil Taylor (5-25) and university student Sammy Laurent (3-32), who took the bowling credits as the Brewers were dismissed for 183.
