Proposals to introduce ‘white ball’ cricket into Premier Division 50-over matches in 2016 are to be put to the Southern Premier League annual meeting on Thursday. They involve using two white balls in each innings, with teams playing in coloured clothing and black sightscreens. Matches in Divisions 1, 2 and 3 would continue to be played with a traditional red ball.
The AGM is also being asked to approve all 40 teams being allowed an overseas player, specifically registered for one team only. Foreign nationals in SPL second teams would have to be under 23 years of age.
