The Southern Premier League Management Committee is eager to get the views of Premier Division cricketers on possible changes to the league for next season.
The ECB are keen for leagues to try different ideas and feel that cricket should be played in the format that players want.
The SPL is asking as many Premier Division players as possible to complete the survey – www.southernpremierleague.com/News before the end of the season and certainly no later than 4 September so the results can be discussed by the league committee in September?
The points raised in the Player Survey are whether –
• Premier Division 50-over matches in 2016 are played in coloured kit with 2 white balls/black sight screens;
• Players be allowed to have surnames and squad numbers all on playing kit;
• all-day Time cricket should continue;
• 50-over matches should start at 12.30pm (instead of 1pm) throughout the season; and
• An Elite Umpiring Panel be formed.
If you are a Premier Division cricketer and you haven’t responded to the Player Survey, don’t hang about – you’ve not got long to make your opinions known.
