South African Matt DeVilliers and left-hand opener George Marshall, who made eight hundreds between them for champions Hambledon this summer, are among seven batsmen named in the Southern Premier League’s Division 2 Team of the Year, announced this evening.
Cape Town based De Villiers raised his bat five times as he plied up an all-time SPL record of 1234 runs, while Marshall hit three centuries. DeVilliers, Fawley’s Sufian Munir and Andover’s Charlie Ayers also enjoyed decent wicket-taking hauls.
